Solar power research and development are driven by the desire to maximize energy consumption and efficiency. Solar car racing represents one aspect of university-level contributions to these efforts. The thesis entitled Data Acquisition System for Solar Car Monitoring aims to develop data acquisition system which will act as data traffic management or controller using motor controller on Uniten's solar car. The project consists of four parts, namely identify, design, construct and test a working data acquisition for solar car monitoring. In this project, the goal was to collect and transmit data from the sensors to the driver's display panel and to the computer located in the chase vehicle. This data will provide data about the solar car's status such as battery voltage, current, temperature and etc. The accurate data received will allow further modification or solve some problems of the solar car. This will then allow the driver to optimize his or her performance better in solar car race.
