Abstract
The thesis proposes the development of a Solar Powered LED Street Light system in a place called Felda Sg. Lui located in Negeri Sembilan. The development is proposed because of the shortage of power supply from the grid as a result of no cable to an incoming or substation in the area. Since the landscape and the environment is being conserve from the harm and not to be exposed with any destruction, to lay new cables will utterly bring to that. The Solar Powered LED Street Light is chosen to overcome the issue because of the use of solar energy as its supply instead of taking power from the grid. LED is getting to be replaced in other nation and country as the advantages that it can give, such as the environmental friendly feature of the lamp itself. The efficient energy conversion also gives the LED a higher ranking compared to other types of lamp. Here, the performance and efficiency in terms of the cost of the energy produced and the electrical consumption is analysed and compared with the standard street lighting of how much the margin of difference between both systems, proving the effectiveness and the practicality of the LED and solar energy.
