Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project is devoted to design and fabricate an automatic fish feeding device for the application of home aquarium. An automatic fish feeder is a device that will dispense a suitable amount of fish food at a predetermined time. This automatic fish feeder is a solution for aquarists to ensure their pet fishes are fed in healthy way and on schedule due to their busy lifes and schedules. The project implements the integration of mechanical, electronic and programming elements to control fish feeding operation. A questionnaire survey was conducted to meet the customer requirements for the device. All the data and technical parameters were gathered to come out with several conceptual designs. After identifying the best finalized design, the system design and fabrication process are taking part. The process starts with mechanical element which is constructing the pellet container and housing of the device using 3D printing process. Next, controller used for the device is Arduino Uno microcontroller that will give command to servo motor to rotate the pellet container. Arduino Uno and servo motor are representing the electronic element for this project. The best part comes from the programming element, whereby a mobile application is developed using Android Studio software to give the best user interface experience for the user. By having the app, user just have to control the device only from their smartphone. When it comes to the end for this project, the automatic fish feeder device is victoriously designed and fabricated following the specified objectives.
