Mosquitoes are known and widely despised for their irritating bites and exasperating buzzing, and more poignantly because, during blood-feeding, female mosquitoes could cause devastating diseases to the victims. In fact, the mosquitoes are a vector of potentially fatal diseases such as Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, and Yellow Fever. For such a tiny little insect, the economic impact due to the problems that mosquitoes cause is staggering. Some mosquito bites are carrying dangerous diseases, but some of them are not. Therefore, the gender of mosquitoes is very important to determine the danger level of an area. Nevertheless, the gender of mosquitoes could be determined by identify the frequency from the mosquito’s wingbeat. So, this project was designed to identify the gender of mosquitoes by identify the frequency produced by mosquitoes. This could be considered as the solution for the mosquitos’ diseases. This is because by knowing the level of danger for an area due to female’s mosquitoes, the preventive action could be done earlier. The system consists of a microphone sensor which operate to fulfil the frequency detection. The basic formula in determine the frequency is used in this study. The proposed of this development is to prevent the worse mosquito’s infections. Next, the effects of various parameters of design are discussed and analysed by collecting data by using microphone sensor and microcontroller. So, this thesis describes the effectiveness of the prototype by data analysis and experimental results.en_US
