In this modern days, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) are widely been used either in commercial sector or military sector. UAV can perform lots of different task depending on the job that being assigned. One of the task seamlessly performed by UAV is remote sensing based. When UAV flies to performed task of remote sensing, the images captured using a stationary camera mounted on (UAV). It only can produce a small size of images and this images has a very limited field of view (FOV). In order to increase a higher FOV of the image, series of images captured need to undergo a combination of several image processing techniques and produced panoramic image from a series of overlapped snapshot images. In the thesis, usage of Speeded-Up Robust Features (SURF) algorithm to detect and match feature points in image is described. SURF working as the first part of producing a panoramic image. SURF algorithm extracted useful information that contain in the image before it can be use by other image processing algorithm to combine it together. This algorithm being implemented and simulated by using MATLAB and the result shows that SURF algorithm can detect features within input images and produced a matching points that will be used by other algorithm and proceed to the next step of producing a panoramic image.
