dc.description.abstractThis thesis report is about a study on the Longitudinal Rail Retrain Test that performs to the railway fasteners to indicate their performance. The fastener that involve in this project is the PANDROL fasteners, one of the most popular fasteners in the world. This type of the fasteners is used in Malaysia by the Kelana Jaya Line that also known as PUTRA LRT. The test basically can be done in the laboratory but because of the lack of equipment due to the expensive of the stuff it self it cannot be done in this country. So in order to indicate the performance of the fasteners used by one of the railway track in this country we had to simulate the test. One of the finite elements package software is used to simulate the test. The program is known as ALGOR. The result of the test will be will be analysis between the one that done in the laboratory and the one that done by using ALGOR. This project also covered study about the fastening system from the beginning of the railway system until the one that used now. The last part of the thesis is the comparison of the difference between the conventional fasteners and the PANDROL fasteners.
