Abstract
In natural corrosion is a natural process, which converts a refined metal to a more stable form, such as its oxide, hydroxide, or sulphide. It is the gradual destruction of materials (usually metals) by chemical and/or electrochemical reaction with their environment. Corrosion engineering is the field dedicated to controlling and stopping corrosion. TNB Jannamanjung is situated on wholly man-made island off their Lekir coast in Manjung, Perak. Therefore, the material or structure at that island were vulnerable by see water. The monitoring and assessing the surrounding of TNBJ by using Non Destructive Test (NDT) method will get the data of corrosion at TNBJ. By using the coupon of Gamry Software, find the corrosion rate at six difference location in plant. It is at outfall, electro chlorination, pump house, coal yard, boiler and turbine. The type of coupon has being use is mild steel and calculate corrosion rate using two method from these coupon. First method is using Gamry Software and weight loss equation. From the experiment, result show location at the outfall is extremely high of corrosion rate value. Second place at boiler, third at electro chlorination, fourt at coal yard, fifth at pump house and less of corrosion rate at turbine. All the result was shown on chapter IV.
