Abstract
In a generation leading towards a green future, solar energy is one of the best ways to generate electricity without causing too much damage to the planet. Solar energy, radiation from the Sun capable of producing heat, causing chemical reactions, or generating electricity. The total amount of solar energy incident on Earth is vastly in excess of the world’s current and anticipated energy requirements. If suitably harnessed, this highly diffused source has the potential to satisfy all future energy needs. In the 21st century solar energy is expected to become increasingly attractive as a renewable energy source because of its inexhaustible supply and its nonpolluting character, in stark contrast to the finite fossil fuels coal, petroleum, and natural gas.
Since solar energy has a lot of benefits in this research paper, we will further look at how the impact of solar renewable energy installation on levelised cost of energy in UNITEN. This project is to study the levelised cost of energy in UNITEN by using Power Purchase Agreement and without Power Purchase Agreement which is offered by GSPARX.SDN.BHD to see if UNITEN are saving money by the installation of solar pv panels.
In Chapter 2, the literature review will be presented and explained. The methodology used in this project will be explained in Chapter 3. In this project, the analysis part is done by using the formulas and calculations which will be further explained.
In the end of the project, the conclusion of this thesis will be able to support the fact that there is a positive impact of installation of solar renewable energy in UNITEN. Besides, the result of this project may be useful for other to use as reference
