dc.description.abstractGeographical Information System (GIS) is a friendly, flexible data management software. This software is widely used in Civil engineering field, especially in Transportation planning and Town planning. In this project, the discussion will be focusing on Transportation planning as GIS plays an very important role in tracking, navigating, routing and scheduling vehicles, and other tasks. In this project, the newly develop areas are Bandar Seri Putra and Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Bangi. The main objective of the project is to recommend an optimal inter-residential bus service route for by using GIS. In order to achieve the objective, GIS is used to digitalise the raw data, analysize the optimal bus stops location and optimal bus service route by using ArcMAP. Therefore, this project can be taken as a conceptual design for the transportation planning in the selected areas.
