Abstract
Currently a sharp supervision of electricity consumption is becoming more and more important. In the USA Domestic electricity prices increased by 40% since the past 9 years; its rising trend which is doubtfully will be reverse soon. In addition to the financial costs, the environmental difficulty related with the burning of fossil fuels is becoming gradually more damaging to the health of many species, as well as us. One of the cheapest and easiest ways to get better energy efficiency is to supervise one's electricity use through a sort of smart meter called a home energy monitor available for around 200us dollar. These demonstrate the whole-house consumption of power in instantaneous, letting the consumer to find out which of the appliances and the behavior consume the majority energy. Studies have verified that the feedback given by power monitors can allow consumers to decrease uses by 4 to 16 %. The USA's yearly CO2 production is likely to trim down by 6 million Tons, if each domestic client in the USA cut energy consumption by 11%. On the other hand the data demonstrated by house power monitors is not as practical as it should be. Studies has confirmed that disaggregate data illustrating appliance-by-appliance power usage is more efficient than aggregate information. Disaggregation was originally successfully implemented In the 1980s using complicated smart meters which offered a loaded, multi-dimensional raw sensor data. The major contribution of this project is to propose and implement then evaluating a system that can illustrate how to obtain the electromagnetic signature (spectrum) from devices that in a place of work or residence. Then from that info able to verify the usage of devices by knowing for how long it was functioning .Finally cut the energy consumption by trimming down the usage of the devices by switching it off.
