Abstract
ABSTRACT Magnetorheological elastomer is a new material that are widely use nowadays. This MRE are known as smart material because it can change its properties such as mechanical, electrical and magnetic with the applied of magnetic field. This material has bright future in the industry and has attracted many researchers to investigate about MRE properties. There are several issues that limited the conventional of MREs to wide applications because of the mechanical properties. This project focused on the multiple way of fabrication methods, fabricate good MREs and to identifying the characteristics of MRE using shaker. This testing based on the anisotropic and isotropic MRE with 10%, 20% and 30% volume percentage of CIP. The MRE for anisotropic were fabricated using variable distance with magnet for 30mm, 35mm and 40mm. The frequency domain was used to analyze the characteristic of MRE using shaker. The frequency was tuned up to 100 Hz. The results obtained shows that the anisotropic MRE can absorb vibration better than isotropic. However, the variable of curing distance in magnet not affecting much on the result.
