Abstract
Solar photovoltaic (PV) technology is now well established as a broadly available, renewable and clean energy source that can be scaled to meet the energy needs of humanity. In Malaysia, the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change has set an ambitious target for 20% of the country’s electricity to be generated from renewable sources by 2030. Airport across the world are some of the leading users of energy. They join the rest of the world in the energy crisis that has come to light of late, with positive reason. They are also known as some of the largest consumers of energy imaginable. The main power supply is from the solar photovoltaic panel. At first, this system will produce energy from sunlight during the day-time. The capturing of lights to produce energy will occur until the turn of sunset. In this case, when the amount of solar photovoltaic panel is large, therefore, the energy that will be produced also will be huge. Although, the energy also needed to be discharged only for a certain area, which is, runway side area. Pursuing this further, all energy that been captured been stored in the battery banks before it been discharge to the lighting devices
