Abstract
This thesis is aimed to study the potential of replacing a normal electricity supply to wind energy supply for brightening up the coastal area. This design involves the prototype of wind energy street light which will be located at the coastal area. The prototype would be able to generate adequate voltage to charge up a battery as per required. The prototype design consist of three parts such wind turbine blades, mounting and electronic circuit. The output voltage generates from the turbine have been recorded. A calculation has been made to show the suitability and capability of the prototype to be used to light-up the coastal area.
