Abstract
Energy data monitoring system are widely applied in renewable energy plant nowadays for the purpose of collecting energy data and undergo further plant performance analysis. To improve the consistency of energy output from a renewable energy, the hybrid renewable energy system is introduced and getting more popular. This project is focused on the development of an online monitoring system with online display platform and the performance monitoring of a hybrid renewable energy system. The online monitoring and display system are developed using a microcontroller, sensors, GSM module and a mobile application. The monitoring system and the hybrid renewable energy system are put on the rooftop of the BN building in Universiti Tenaga Nasional for 7 days to collect all the performance data. All the performance data with a step size of 1 minute are downloaded from the mobile application for further analysis and discussion. The performance of the hybrid renewable energy system is successfully monitor using the online monitoring system and had been analysed. The performance data collected for this 7 day show that a hybrid PV-wind system can compensate each other drawback and produced a more stable energy output.
