With the rapid growth of technology, Internet is getting better and more accessible in many places. Many modern devices are connected to one another through the Internet making data transfer more convenient and faster. From this, Internet of Things (IoT) is getting more attention from the public as its implementation can improve our lives. This thesis discusses on the design of an IoT device for smart campus applications. In general, smart campus follows a similar concept as smart city which is to ease the lives of the residents. This design proposes several subsystems for different functionalities which include smart parking system, automatic attendance system, online booking system, automatic lighting and temperature monitoring system and smartphone application integration. Raspberry Pi is used as the central processing unit for this design prototype alongside with other electronic components. Node-RED is used to program the Pi with the subsystems and to create a web application as the user interface. Node-RED allows MQTT protocol to be used to create smartphone application which can interact with subsystems. All these subsystems are tested with multiple scenarios to ensure their reliability and validity. The tests show the desired results and has proven that it can handle the multiple cases well given that there are no damaged components. Based on these results, this design prototype is considered to be functioning properly and can be used for smart campus applications.en_US
