dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this thesis is to develop a device for producing a large volume of almost constant (or constant-gradient) magnetic field. Maxwell Coils are used to generate uniform magnetic field. Maxwell Coil is improvements of Helmholtz Coils to produce a larger volume of almost constant magnetic field. Literature review on device that can produce a large uniform magnetic field was done throughout the thesis project. The project started with literature review and followed by drawing the prototype by using AutoCAD with certain dimensions. The size of the prototype was determined and all the equipment and materials to develop Maxwell coil were decided. During the measurement, EMDEX II Meter is used for calibration purpose. Microsoft EXCEL is used for the simulation part and then the value of simulation part and measurement value were then compared to get the percentage error. 3D Field Pro was used to get the contour image of the uniform magnetic value. The project's objectives were to design Maxwell Coil to produce uniform magnetic field for magnetic field calibrator were successfully achieved.
