The work presented in this study involves a determination to widen sustainable applications (e.g., recycling waste clay bricks, reducing CO2 emissions in cement production) in construction industry. Surkhi obtained from destroyed masonry was evaluated as a pozzolanic cementitious material in cement mortar. The hydration characteristics of this material and its effects on cement paste, and mortar mechanical properties. The test conducted in this study were sieve analysis, compressive strength test, UPV test and water absorption test.en_US
