Abstract
This thesis is about designing a modular flexible and portable ramp for wheelchairs. The main objective is to produce a design that can be helpful and also portable for the wheelchair users to use in some conditions like car entrance, bus entrance, road curb and others. Several researches have been done in order to obtain important information in designing the portable ramp. Next, a survey has been conducted by using Google Form to gain ideas and also desire from the users which lead to a House of Quality that will be gather all the data from the survey. It will also compare between the desire design with several competitors. From the House of Quality, several concept design and been develop and chosen by using Pugh Matrix. All the concept design is based on the House of Quality. 3D design will be developed after all the concept has been evaluate by Pugh matrix and several testing will be done to the 3D design to gain useful information about the final design of the ramp. A prototype will be developed after completing the 3D design model of the portable ramp which will has the same dimension and weight. The prototype will experience several testings which will help to obtain the problems of the design. The result for this thesis will be the testing result of the prototype. Several discussions will be done after all the testing has been done.
