dc.description.abstractThis thesis reports the simulation of electroluminescence phenomenon in high voltage polymeric insulating cable. It is suggested that electrical ageing is one of the possible causes of electrical degradation and electroluminescence phenomenon can be used to analyze the ageing. The importance of the study on electrical ageing is to prolong the lifetime of the cable since the replacement of the breakdown cable is very costly. Typical characteristics of electroluminescence are reviewed in this thesis to have a better understanding.en_US
