T Global warming has become the main issue to this planet Earth. While people continuously chopping down trees to make buildings, icebergs being defrost because of the global warming, methane gas as one of the most dangerous greenhouse gases is also known to be contributed to the global warming. In order to stabilise methane concentration, it is need to be reduced from global emission. This paper aims to study the feasibility on developing a biogas-based power plant for reducing emission from the methane gases produced. Furthermore, the methane gas produced can be reduced by treating the palm oil mill effluent in a closed ponding system. However, at certain point in a power plant that use palm oil, it will be treated in an open ponding system which is the main way of the methane gas to be released to the atmosphere. Hence, palm oil mill effluent need to be treated in a closed pond. Lastly, since the methane gas can be captured from the closed ponding system, it can be used to generate electricity by undergoing few processes.en_US
