dc.description.abstract | The objectives are to design a portable cooler that contains Phase Change Materials for usage in an enclosed space as a replacement for air-conditioners, to analyze and study the operation of the cooler using simple hand calculations and CFD software and to design a scale model of the cooler. The project was started off with the literature review where previous applications of PCMs were studied. Then, the cooler design and operating and boundary conditions were done. Following that, the analysis of the cooler operation in the room was done using both simple calculations and by CFD analysis. | en_US |
