Abstract
The implementation of IBS in Malaysia is making great strides to achieve the target set by the government through the policies in IBS Roadmap. IBS advantages in terms of saving time and cost is not a new issue in the implementation of this system. However, there are still many construction industry players who insistently do not want to adopt this system in their development projects. The objective of this study was to identify the implementation of IBS system in Malaysia until today and identify the effectiveness of this system compared with the conventional method in terms of time and cost savings. The methods used for this research study is by the study of literature reviews, survey questionnaires and desk study. From this research study, it is found that Malaysia is still lagging in the implementation of IBS but has been able to occupy a favourable level. In addition, through the desk study done, it is wise to state that IBS system has been able to reduce the construction time and saving in cost.
