The purpose of this thesis was to investigate effective crop productivity in a controlled environment with a real-time monitoring system. The development of the investigation system was motivated by the Malaysia Good Agricultural Practices (MyGAP). The design of the system was to monitor selected environmental parameters as well as application software to upload environmental data into the cloud for a real-time dashboard view, which links information for producers and consumers. The system design is based on the internet of things (IoT) technology utilizing electronic irrigation system, environment parameter sensors, data acquisition processor modules, data cloud system, data analytical technique for information display, and real-time dashboard view. The IoT has shown a promising application of computer and communication engineering in the agriculture sector, which enable to minimize waste in resources for crop production and consumption. The proposed system has potential benefits for the producers to plan and deliver the crop to the consumersen_US
