Abstract
Photovoltaic Atmospheric Water Generation (PAWG) can be considered as alternative form of water supply. This technology capitalize on concerns about water scarcity in Malaysia and utilization on renewable energy (RE). The similar existing project concept was used and enhanced in this research paper. The Photovoltaic Atmospheric Water Generation technology uses condensation process to extract water from air. Photovoltaic (PV) and Thermoelectric cooler (TEC) module are used to generate the power and achieve the condensation process. The sun irradiance gives power to photovoltaic panel and turn on the system. Humid air from surrounding then will flow into the system through heat sink attached with TEC module then producing water by condensing the water vapour. This paper reviews the outcome and potential relationship between TEC and PV module performing the system producing the water. The experiment were conducted at two different elevations or heights. Results analysis and discussion shows some constraints encountered such as partial shading which can cause the system works inconsistently. The results prove that the Photovoltaic Atmospheric Water Generation (PAWG) technology can become an alternative form of water supply as a solution to water shortage. Future recommendations are suggested to increase the efficiency and productivity of PAWG to produce more water.
