This thesis describes the synthesis procedure and characterization of Copper based metal organic framework (Cu-MOF) using Arabic Gum as a replacement for commercial carbon linker. The synthesis of Cu-MOF was done by using room temperature synthesis method with varying amount of Triethylamine (TEA) acting as catalyst. The samples were also varied by the weight to weight ratio of Arabic Gum to distilled water of 5%, 10%, 15% and 17.2%. The characterizations were performed using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analyses, Field Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) analyses, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectra (FTIR) analyses and Ultraviolet and Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis) analyses.
