| dc.description.abstract | Lightning strikes are the main problem usually seem to happen in Solar Photovoltaic systems. Thus, it is really important to have a proper lightning protection system even for small solar PV systems. When the solar PV panels are located in wide and higher ground areas, the chances of lightning stroke is very frequent and high. This could damage most of the electrical parts of solar PV plants and lead to wastage of money to replace it because normally they are expensive. In Malaysia, most of the solar PV plants are not protected properly and they are easily hit by lightning which has various kind of transient fault currents and voltages. The solar panels could get damage and their price is extremely high to replace them. | en_US |
