Abstract
Fuel cells are a technology for electricity generation that shows considerable potential to play a major role in shaping the future energy landscape. However, the vigorous effort to make fuel cell technology as a full-fledged energy sources is held back by the performance reliability and mechanical integrity issues of fuel cells under harsh environment. Mass distrbutions in flow field plate shows the dominance of flow field plate in fuel cells. Vibration characteristics are required to understand the vibration behavior of flow field plate. In depth simulation were conducted by varying flow field plate mechanical and geometrical parameters. By changing geometrical and mechanical property of flow field plate, resonance frequency can be increased more than twofold or decreased by 0.61%. Under resonance condition, deformation or displacement which may contributes to hydrogen leakage can be decreased up to 96%. Optimization study might be needed to explain the conflicting results obtained.
