dc.description.abstract | Piezoelectric materials have a special characteristic that can produce energy that needed to operate most electric or electronic components. The piezoelectric materials will produce the energy when it captures the ambient of vibration or motion. With this special characteristic of piezoelectric materials, development of piezoelectric devices to harvest the energy has been talked since years ago. The idea of energy harvesting come from the human motion or can be classified as mechanical force. This mechanical force will be used by piezoelectric materials as their input and convert it to the electrical energy as their output. Recent study show this power generation from piezoelectric materials can be harvested and stored into energy storage. The basic of the piezoelectric device used the piezoelectric materials. A prototype of a pavement was designed to harvest the energy that produced by piezoelectric device. This piezoelectric device was placed under the pavement. As human walked on the pavement, the energy was produced and this energy was stored into energy storage. Most likely energy storage for energy harvesting will be store into Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable battery. | |
