Abstract
This thesis utilises CDEGS software to compute peak current of 30kA, 100kA with both front time and soil resistivity of 1μs, 19μs and 100Ω.m, 1000Ω.m. The simulation of different current amplitudes of 30kA and 100kA using Heidler function generated in FFTSES module with 1μs, 19μs of front time. Then in HIFREQ module a 40m X 40m and 100m X 100m grid size is constructed. Energization of generated current in FFTSES is the injected near to the centre of the grid. Then examination of safety limits for grid which are step and touch voltage being conducted. This paper also analyse the influence of lightning parameters which are peak current and front time of the wave shape. For all the case analysed it is only applicable for body weight of 50 kg in conclusion from the results obtained deduce that the soil resistivity plays a very important role to produce safe touch and step voltage. While the lightning parameter which is front time of the wave shape does not affect the safety limits which are the step and touch voltage.
