Abstract
In today’s growing world, the paces of growth for industrial and technological departments are impeccable which directly increases the overall demand of raw energy. The main concern for now would be the heavy dependence on non-renewable energy sources such as fossil fuels that are affecting the environment by releasing greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane. To tackle the rising problem of global warming, our country has taken few initiatives to reduce the carbon emission by 45% by the year 2030. In this project, solar energy will be experimented to display the conversion the solar radiation to heat energy for domestic use. Different surface material will be used for the parabolic solar thermal collector with a water pot placed at its focal point to review the surface material efficiency. A clear structure of literature review and experimental methodology has been displayed for better understanding of the project. The study also covers the types of reflecting surfaces to be used, the setup of the prototype and also displays the data obtained throughout the experiment conducted. Types of solar collector available are also discussed in this work to illustrate the difference in concept that will be utilised for this project using a parabolic collector. The main objective of this project is to investigate how the difference in the surface of parabolic solar collector helps in collecting the highest solar irradiation and to study and observe how using pots with different outer surface affects the heating of the water. The data gathered was then used to come up with a rational conclusion and to see if it meets the projects objective.
