Abstract
Soybean husk has been studied to be a good natural which can be use in the water treatment process. The main parameters looked into in this project is the Form of soybean husk being presented to the Jar and Iron content test. There are 2 types of form of the soybean husk adsorbent, Dried form and Charcoal form. The outcome produced by both types will be compared and analysed. This project also studies the optimum condition where the highest amount of iron removed from the sample solution by the adsorbent. Condition simply refers to the dosage of adsorbent and the concentration of synthetic iron solution. Jar test and iron content test were conducted accordingly to the sequence set. Overall, the Dried form of soybean husk adsorbent performed better in removing the iron content compare to the Charcoal type adsorbent. Both the Dried and the Charcoal remove the most iron content with the highest adsorbent dosage used, which is 1.0g. The Charcoal type adsorbent has the highest percentage of removal (28.5%) at 10ml iron solution concentration. However, the Dried type adsorbent give a more consistent percentage of iron removal in variations of iron solution concentration with the average of 20.3%.
