dc.description.abstract | This project is developing a small-scale of dc nanogrid with solar as a power source to replace the existing power source. During daytime, the photovoltaic (PV) panel will harvest the energy from sun and stored in a battery pack. The energy will be used by the system to light up the LED and DC motor. Buck converter is use in this system to step down the voltage. There are two LED and two DC motor use in the prototype. LED as the lamp and DC motor as the fan in a house. LED and DC motor have different input voltage. The buck converter will step down the voltage and protect the component from damage. Another unique function of this buck converter system is can easily adjusted the duty cycle using the voltage regulator to produce high or low duty cycle and the output will produce the voltage needed by the component. Data is taken from the prototype and amount of energy saving is calculate at the end of this project. Moreover, the power consumption can be significantly reduced. | en_US |
