dc.description.abstractThis study focus more on the effect of partial discharge (PD) activity towards incipient fault of cable. This eventually will lead to permanent fault if not detect early. Presence of void in the insulation contribute to the PD activity to exist. Two simulation were used which are MATLAB Simulink and Finite Element Method magnetics (FEMM). The MATLAB software will detect the partial discharge pattern in cable insulation and FEMM software measure the electrostatic stress.
