T In this study, UiO-66 was successfully synthesised with hydrochloric acid, the metal organic system (MOF) based on Zirconium. UiO-66 materials were synthesised using solvothermal methods in which N-N'-Dimethylformamide (DMF) reaction mixtures of zirconium (IV) oxynitrate hydrate and terephthalic acid were aging at 130°C for 12,24,36 and 48 hours, respectively. It was observed the mixture is in the form of white fine powder. The synthesised UiO-66 materials were characterised using X-Ray diffraction analysis (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive x-ray analysis (EDX), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The patterns of x-ray diffraction showed octahedral plane with promising peaks of (111), (220), and (600) with high intensity at approximately 2θ at 7.3°, 8.45°, and 25.6° similar to materials recorded in UiO-66. Calculated the crystalline size within the range of approx. 21 nm 28 nm with Scherer equation at the strongest peak. SEM images showed that the synthesised material was a 500 nm-1μm crystal in the form of octahedral morphology crystal. The findings of an EDX analysis showed the presence of 3 elements of C, O and Zr in UiO-66. TGA findings showed a 3-stage loss of weight at around. 50°C–250°C and 500°C-650°C. Based on the overall results obtained, the 24-hour multiplication of UiO-66 ageing time shows better results as compared to others through the analyses performed.en_US
