Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is known as machine intelligence play vital role in human innovation progressing towards future. ROBOCON is used as platform to encourage creative ideas from young people regarding robots and to nurture their ideas by implementing healthy competition between young inventors. The aim of this project is intended to design and develop a Rugby Ball Kicking Robot which will be later enhanced to compete in ROBOCON 2020. Furthermore, this project also aims to improve and accurate rugby ball shooting mechanism by referring to guidelines and requirements set by ROBOCON 2020 organizers. Rugby Ball Kicking Robot must fulfill the requirement of the rugby ball elevation to reach a maximum vertical height of 10m and the distance covered as much as 10m by the rugby ball. This desired requirement needs a strong shooting mechanism which need to be analyzed thoroughly in order to the rugby ball to reach the maximum projection and elevation. The angle of shooting and perfect amount of force need to exert in order to rugby ball to reach the maximum elevation. Since Rugby ball weighs 410g-460g, gravitational force and initial shooting force need to be taken into consideration. The Rugby Ball Kicking Robot have to be coded with Arduino program and needs moving mechanism such as legs and rollers in order to operate by the robot itself. The Rugby Ball Kicking Robot should have safety measures which need to activated in emergency situation since the rules of ROBOCON 2020 prohibits strictly any type of danger and damage to person, field, facilities, equipment and opponent’s robot. The development of the Rugby Ball Kicking Robot needs a proper planning, suitable design and strong financial support.
