This thesis contains a method to build a prototype that can classify home appliances using mobile applications and the Internet of Things (IoT). The objective of this project is to build a prototype that can control the switch of the appliances using the mobile app and able to classify the home appliances category either capacitive, resistive and inductive. Next, able to monitor the usage of electric current, voltage, and power at the mobile app. To achieve this objective, it uses the Arduino component, Blynk app and internet are needed. This project output current was not accurate and have a high error if a low current appliance is used in this project. This error can be reduced by using a high current appliance in this project such as a light bulb, capacitor bank, and washing machine.en_US
