Microchannel heat sink was known to be capable of removing heat in major electrical devices specifically computers. Microchannel heat sink design within the years has change with the researched done to it and most of it was to improvise the cooling capability of microchannel heat sink. This thesis reports numerical investigation on microchannel heat sink using radial cavity and compared with semi-eclipse and rectangle cavity design. ANSYS FLUENT was a computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software used to simulate and obtained the results for comparing the efficiency by using of the three different designs. The results obtained from the data then were calculated and compared with other obtained parameters to obtain the final efficiency value for all three designs. The results showed that the radial cavity has the highest efficiency in compared with the rectangle cavity and semi-eclipse cavity. This shows that the radial cavity design in microchannel heat sink was able to improve the thermal enhancement of the microchannel heat sink.
