Superconductor an element that allow electrical current to flow without having energy loss if only when the superconductor is cooled below a certain temperature where its material losses all electrical resistance. With a various new superconductor types found until today, the most challenging things is to improve its superconductivity in the superconducting field. In this study, superconductor Bi-2223 was used. In order to determine the critical current density and critical temperature with added and non-added nanosized MgO. Throughout the study the sample were made using the solid state method. Two samples were made each without the nanosized MgO and the other one with added nanosized MgO. Both of the sample were observed its X-ray Diffraction (XRD) pattern and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) characterizations. Both sample were defined their critical current density (Jc) using a specific formula based on the respective critical temperature (Tc). From the research done, as expected the sample with added nanosized MgO improved the effectiveness of superconductivity compared to the non-added nanosized MgO sample.en_US
