dc.description.abstractThis thesis reports about the impact of electric vehicle charging on distribution grid with the help of power electronic component such as rectifier and bi-directional dc-dc converter. The main objectives of this project are to study the effect of electric vehicle charging on harmonic during charging operation on distribution grid and the mitigation to achieve a better efficiency on the power quality. Electric vehicle charging system consist of various type of rectifier and converter used depending on the system charging level type. The rectifier is used to convert ac voltage to dc voltage in order to charge the electric vehicle battery while converter is this system act as voltage controller for the electric vehicle battery. Program simulation Matlab Simulink version R2019b is used for modelling and simulating the impact of charging electric vehicles on distribution grids. The behaviour of distribution grid during electric vehicle charging operation is achieved by using this program.en_US
