Abstract
The solar PV technology has become a vital resource of clean energy in fulfilling demands of electricity in the increasing population. By maintaining the PV panel temperature according to the specified standard helps in harnessing the optimal power output consistently. There are various PV panel cooling techniques available in order to increase the efficiency value. High operating temperatures induce a loss of efficiency in solar photovoltaic panels. The purpose of this project is to increase the efficiency of the solar panel with the use of phase-change materials (PCM) to maintain the temperature of the panels close to the ambient. Within this project, a solar panel with the attachment of PCM at the back of the solar panel are being proposed by modifying the architecture of the back panel that suits the PCM used and able to increase the efficiency of the solar panel as the PCM able to absorb excess heat that will harness the solar efficiency. The design of the enclosure of the solar PV panel will be develop with the help of concept generation along with the morphological diagram to pick the final design. The chosen design will be generated in parametric software along with the analysis that will be simulated. After the fabrication of the final design is completed, the data will be measured and tabulated to compare the effectiveness of the design of enclosure with the attachment of PCM and without the attachment of PCM.
