Abstract
The quality of power supplied to customers cannot be monitored and stored. Customers can only measure the power supply using multimeter upon inquiry. There is no logged data when power quality event happens after it damages customers’ equipment This work focus on creating power quality monitoring system that enable customers to monitor and store data of power being supplied to them. The system can detect and distinguish the power quality events as well as record and store the events in a file. The system measures power supply from power outlet to the load via transducers. The data from transducers’ outputs go through MyDAQ, a data acquisition device before being displayed on PC using LabVIEW software. When a power quality event occurs, the system is able to classify the event according to IEC standard and alert the user by turning on red LED at the user interface. The system also able to record and store the data in an Excel file.
