Abstract
This thesis presents the research on the principle of electromagnetism that can help mankind in collecting any scrap metal leftover. In result of the research on the principle, an idea to build a portable magnetic lifting device came and the investigation begins by collecting useful information that may help. Then, come to the design of the project which emphasizes on the safety, the power produced and the output results. The project was started by collecting information about the current existing magnetic lifting device. Then, all the information gathered were analysed to make improvement on the project design. All the advantage and the disadvantage of current existing product were improved on the new prototype for this project. Firstly, the design of circuit and the design of prototype were made. Both circuit and prototype design includes all the important parameters in order to produce the best portable magnetic lifting device with low cost to build it. Then, comes the development of prototype stage which shows all the process of designing and building the prototype using suggested materials that have been chosen. After the prototype design process finished, the experimental procedure or the prototype testing were done in order to analyze the performance of the prototype. There are two type experiments that were tested to the prototype which are on the distance and the amount of current given to the prototype. This project has successfully achieved the main objective at the end.
