The main objective of this research was to conduct a feasibility study of implementing Floating Solar Photovoltaics (PV), specifically at Malaysia offshore environment. As for now, the current electricity generation method for most offshore platforms are by the conventional method, which is by continuous burning of fossil fuels. This conventional method of power generation does not only add up the initially high safety hazards at offshore platforms, but also pollutes the environment. Therefore, a shift towards renewable energy solutions in power generation at offshore environment is important as it enhances the sustainability of the environment while maintaining operation. In order to achieve this objective, this paper presents the simulation model design development. Then, data collection from three different cities (onshore) and offshore locations is used for simulations, which is done by using the MATLAB-Simulink software. Based on the results obtained, by comparing the offshore and onshore results, this paper concludes the study by justifying whether the Floating Solar PV system developed is practical or feasible to be used in Malaysian offshore environment.en_US
