Abstract
The early warning system technology for earthquake has long existed and plays an important role in helping citizen to evacuate affected places before the higher magnitude strike to populated place. This thesis details on the development of Earthquake Location Detector System (ELDS) base on PIC18F4550 microcontroller. The microcontroller will be used as central processing unit for locating algorithms and reading inputs from sensors and controlling output peripherals. The sensors can detect earthquake direction from a certain range. Signals will be sent to microcontroller for further prediction from the data collected. An estimated feedback will be display from the LCDs and alarm will be trigger for warning signal. Further messages will be sending to the display for notifying evacuation and also provide safest place for refugees. Basically these two systems would be able to communicate via RF module by send data from detector unit to monitor unit and further process will be executed. The aim of this project is to improve efficiency of the conventional early warning system for earthquake detection as well as to provide a more convenient medium for detecting earthquake location and feedback instantly to prevent disaster.
