Electric Vehicle (EV) has been getting an increased attention nowadays. Along with an increased awareness about current environmental problems, EV technologically drastically becomes the attention for Green Technology alternatives in automotive industry. Hence, the development of EV is becoming more intensive in an effort to outperform the current petroleum combustion engine vehicle. The project will focus on the development of a bidirectional EV charger using MATLAB Simulink. The EV charger will utilize the decoupled P-Q control mechanism which will assist in the independent active and reactive power control for the system. Simulation results from MATLAB will be able to prove the operation of the designed EV charger in both charging and discharging mode. The values of active and reactive power will also be observed to determine the effectiveness of the system in controlling these parameters independently.en_US
