Abstract
In today’s day and age where fossil fuels are gradually depleting globally, it is vital that we turn to renewable sources to ensure sustainability. The government of Malaysia has pledge to power at least 20% of the nation’s energy demand solely through renewable sources. Having commissioned a few hydro power plants for some time now, the government has expanded its efforts through the commissioning of solar farms such as the one in Sepang. This paper will touch on the no-brainer idea that the country of Malaysia has immense potential in terms of solar power. The paper will show the irradiance values throughout the country to prove this fact. This was done as part of the literature review for this paper. After looking at the many types of solar systems, it was decided that a grid-connected solar farm would be the main frame of this project. Further reviews were done to determine the suitable number of panels, the sizing of the inverter, and the MPPT control. The simulation results show that it is feasible for solar power generation in this country. The goal of this paper is to show and promote the many perks of renewable energy sources, solar power in particular. Due to its eco-friendly energy generation capability, this project will aid in the combat against combat change
