dc.description.abstractRS-232 has been used mostly in the industrial communication device all over the world for serial communication transmission of data. Even though the RS-232 port has to be considered as an old interface but its still is being use in the industrial due to their simplicity and lower cost. Nowadays, mostly RS-232 has been replaced by much better interfaces like RS-422, RS-485 and ethernet which have a better transmission speed, longer maximum cable length, low voltage swing and etc. RS-232 is still being used due to their simplicity and past ubiquity. It was still being used in networking equipment, and scientific instrument because of short-range, point-to-point and fully adequate for a low speed wired data connection. Most personal computer does not use RS-232 interface but using an USB peripheral interface, so RS-232 to USB converter is needed to be able to connect to a personal computer. This system in this paper is to configure about sending a data and vice versa from a computer to a machine through a RS-232 interfaces. The system is consists of microcontroller, RS-232 daughter board, RS-232 to USB converter and crossover LAN cable. The system is allow for one to sending a data trough a computer to a designated destination such as machine or from a machine sending a data to a computer. The reason mostly industrial using RS-232 is because of RS-232 able to get up to 5V which is advantages for a long length of wired is used to able to connect a machine to a monitoring room. The system can furtherly improved by applying IOT, which means it will save a data whenever it sends in the cloud data storage that can be view by connecting to the internet whenever you are.en_US
