dc.description.abstractThis research basically focusing on finding the improvement ideas on the capacity and line performance problem at connecting rod line. The capacity of connecting rod related to the defects of connecting rod part that occurred during the production time. The line performance can be measured by analysing the downtime and the reason behind the downtime occurred during the production day. Based on the data collection, the main focus area for this research is on the Press Bush machine which is one of the operational process that contributes capacity and line performance problem at the connecting rod line. The observation is conducted on the production line for two weeks' time duration. The 4M elements are considered during the observation. The 4M elements are Man, Machine, Materials and Method. The data analysis and results are carried out based on the observation result. The result shows that the Man elements contribute more portion in the capacity and line performance problem. Suggested solution for the company are listed out from the knowledge gain from manufacturing lectures and journal reading suitable based on the case study.
