Power system stability is of utmost importance in electrical engineering studies, and is used to define the ability of the of the system to bring back its operation to steady state condition within minimum possible time after having undergone some sort of transience or disturbance in the line The main objective of this project is to investigate voltage stability on a power system and the properties of PV power system. Investigation for voltage stability in this project is divided into three stages namely, static dynamic and PV analysis. Simulations conducted on these three stages were done using Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSS/E). Voltage Stability index such as LQP index is used to verify the voltage stability of the power system tested. The data for the test bus system modelled is obtained from MATPOWER IEEE- 30 bus. PV integrated on the test bus system will improve the bus voltage and voltage stability of the bus injected with PV penetration.
