Abstract
This research investigates the dynamic interplay between economic growth, population growth, inflation, climate change and food security in Malaysia. The research is an expansion of 43 years from 1974-2016. The study focuses on the dependent variable, food security and the independent variable is economic growth, population growth, inflation and climate change. Using a multiple regression analysis the research explores the impact of this variables towards food security in Malaysia. Findings reveal that economic growth, population growth and climate change exhibit impact on food security in Malaysia. Conversely, inflation does not show statistically significant associations with food security. Considering these results, recommendations are made for Malaysian authorities to address the identified issues and develop a body to oversee and coordinate efforts to ensure policies are aligned and support common goals.The study’s purpose is to provide an understanding of the relationship between Economic Growth, Population Growth, Inflation, Climate Change and Food Security to the reader. Additionally, the research suggests collecting more recent data that is beyond 2016.This is to get the fully ability to understand the current trends.
